From the time we are young, we are taught how to listen. We grow up listening to our parents, our siblings, our friends, our families.
We think we are good at listening.
However, do we stop to take the time to really listen?
Listening is not just about hearing. It involves all senses. We must pay attention to what is happening around us.
Distress can easily be identified by the expression one wears. Or in the sound of one’s voice.
I’m not saying that you should pry into everyone’s personal life. On the contrary, if someone is distressed, lend a shoulder and let them vent.
If I sense someone is upset or hurt, I send loving thoughts their way from afar, even if I never speak to them.
We spend a lot of time listening to and helping others, but how well do we listen to ourselves?
It’s very common to put the needs of others before your own, especially as a boss or as a parent.
However, we cannot neglect listening to ourselves. It is detrimental for everyone.
So many of us live with stress and outright hatred for some aspect of life. It doesn’t have to be that way!
If we truly listened, we wouldn’t be so stressed out all the time.
Remove the negativity from your life, regardless of what it is. You deserve nothing but the best. Get rid of anyone or anything doesn’t align with being your best self.
If you’re stuck, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Those who never ask for help are those who need it the most.
We are all in this together. You don’t have to suffer alone in silence. There is so much more to life than sorrow and hardships. We have to do everything in our power to reach it.
We are all stronger than we think. Asking for help makes us strong, not weak.
We must learn to listen to both others and ourselves. Something we know could be life saving information for someone else. Someone else could have just the thing you needed to cheer you up.
Even if life is hard, we must never give up hope. Hope is what keeps us going in tougher times.
Have a great week everyone.
